Believe it or not, Chris started his career as a professional footballer, playing over a five year period before an unfortunate injury meant that he had to give up his football career. He then moved into sports retail and was a Store Manager for two major high street sports chains over a two year period, before taking up a senior Sales Management position for Euro Food Brands.
Chris then joined Retail Projects Ltd where he was Project Manager responsible for delivering store refurbishment programmes for Asda. This involved cost planning, procurement, appointment &
management of contractors through to site implementation; he stayed in this role for 4 years latterly operating at senior level.
Following a short spell as an Account & Project Manager for a principle contractor he joined DarntonEGS Consultancy where for the past five years he has been the Account & Senior Project Manager. Reporting directly to the M.D. Chris’s responsibilities put him in charge of multi-million pound New Store, Acquisition, Extension and refurbishment schemes, not to mention roll-out and multi-site maintenance schemes.
He has also had experience with two major retailers, where he was appointed on a seconded role and led teams of internal Project Managers to deliver multi-site store change roll-out programmes. Chris is a strong leader and thrives in a challenging environment. He is very client focused and builds solid relationships with the organisations that he works alongside.
When Chris is not wearing his Project Management hat, you will most likely find him either on the Golf Course, or at the Cricket Club, failing that his daughter will probably have him out somewhere doing a spot of retail therapy.
